In March 2004, a small group of performers staged an adapted production of Euripides' classic tragedy, The Women of Troy, in the Menzies Theatre at La Trobe University. Set within the mind of a grief stricken survivor, the performance embodied a meditation on the madness of war and the physical trauma of loss.
Now in 2007, members of the original troupe have decided to get together and return to the piece, with a few new ideas.
The Women of Troy will be staged in October 2007 as part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival.
